CEO Emeritus – Thomas (Tom) Boscamp
Tom was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona the youngest of six brothers. My family had relocated from Indiana the year I was born. He joined the US Army in 1982 and was stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana and Camp Stanton, DMZ Korea. He was an Air Defense Radar operator as well as a CBRN Specialist. It was in Korea where he met his wife Sara, who was working at a Hospital in Seoul. They have two children. Angela, his daughter is an Army Veteran and a Coastline Military Programs Student. She is married to Jason, a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Army.
Chris, his son works for Disney as a chef for the exclusive Club 33.
Tom has worked as a Network Administrator for Genus Technologies where he helped to roll out the new version of software for Honeywell used to manufacture Jet propulsion engines. He also worked as a Business Development Manager for a Large construction company in Phoenix and was a Marketing Director for Affordable Image.
When Tom and Sara moved to Garden Grove in 2011 Tom was walking his dog one morning and came across Coastline’s Garden Grove Center. He thought “this would be a cool place to go back to school if I could afford it”. He hadn’t been in school since 1998. He came home and had received an email from the VA announcing the VRAP program. He signed up and enrolled at Coastline. After one year he started working in the VRC as a part time fill in employee; Nearly three years later he was promoted to full time status as the Veterans Resource Center Specialist after bringing many new programs to Coastline and the community’s Veterans. Tom is certified in mental health first aid and a Veterans Peer Support Specialist designated by the Veterans Administration.
Why do you do this?: I have always been passionate about helping others, especially fellow Veterans. While receiving a Congressional Recognition award for serving Veterans he said “Teddy Roosevelt said that No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. I just care and put that into act“ My fellow Veterans come back having sacrificed their lives and face so many challenges and barriers. I want to remove those barriers by giving them everything they deserve and more.”

Why do you do this?: Quote from my Dad (WWII Navy Medic). “Veterans aren’t born Veterans, they were created by the Government. Are we not responsible for them as the Government?. They should be first in line, not last, First Class Citizens not Third Class.” This quote is what drives my passion to do everything possible to see that Veterans receive the respect, dignity and opportunity the have earned.

Why do you do this?: “The man and women who have served and are serving today in our military gave up family, friends and businesses so that we all could live in freedom. Many have made to ultimate sacrifice by laying down their lives for us. Without those brave Veterans we would not be able to enjoy the many blessings this country has to offer. It is my desire to be a part of an organization that seeks to give the support and opportunity to excel to each of our military heroes….they simple deserve our very best.
